Last week i was attending sxsw and there was a fantastic movie:
Garbage Dreams
Zabbaleen, Cairo's garbage people, collect, sort, and recycle egypts garbage. They recycle 80% of what they collect turning it into raw materials to sell on the world market. Recent modern companies have contracted the garbage collection and only recycle 37%.
It was an amazing story and very well put together documentary. If a screening comes near you I highly recommending seeing the movie
